Matthew Newton - Partner, Columbia Capital

Matt is a partner at Columbia Capita and joined the firm in 1996. He focuses on communication services opportunities. Specific areas of attention for Matt include enterprise IT services, wireless voice communications, broadband wireless services, and various wireless spectrum opportunities.

In addition to Optasite, Matt currently sits on the board of Adjoined Consulting, Affinity Internet, MindSHIFT Technologies, and WCS Wireless. Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Matt worked in the Industrial Manufacturing investment banking group of Dean Witter Reynolds.

Matt received his B.S. in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University.



Rand Lewis - Principal, Centennial Ventures

Rand joined Centennial in 1999 to focus on investments in the network communications market. Prior to Centennial, Rand was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Atlanta, Georgia and Sao Paulo, Brazil, serving clients across multiple industries with an emphasis in telecommunications. Previous to McKinsey & Company, he was a software engineer with US WEST.

Rand currently sits on the board of BlueStar Solutions, Inflow Group, and Optasite.

He holds numerous degrees including; B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Brigham Young University; M.S. in Computer Science, University of Colorado; and M.B.A., The J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.



Word D. ("Tripp") Peake - Worcester Capital Partners
Tripp Peake is a Managing Partner of both Long River Ventures and Worcester Capital Partners and brings more than 18 years of venture building and investing experience to the funds. Immediately prior to Long River, Tripp was a partner at Kestrel Venture Management, where he focused on the management of Mass Ventures Equity Fund, a $14 million early stage fund established in western Massachusetts in 1997.

Tripp serves or has served on numerous boards as board member or observer, including Clarity Imaging, Optasite, Profile Systems, Protedyne, Reconda International, Sovereign Hill Software, and WRNX Radio. Before joining Kestrel, Tripp was co-founder and CEO of two venture development consulting companies: Mass Ventures, based in Amherst, MA and associated with the University of Massachusetts; and Science Park Associates, based in New Haven, CT and associated with Yale University.

Tripp holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from Yale University. He lives in Amherst, MA and operates out of the Hadley, MA and Worcester, MA offices.



Jim Eisenstein - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Optasite
Jim Eisenstein brings more than 20 years of business and telecommunications experience to his position as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Optasite, Inc. Prior to joining Optasite, Jim was Chief Executive Officer of Concourse Communications Group LLC, the leading developer and operator of in-building distributed antenna systems in the nation’s largest transportation venues, including New York (LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark Airports, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, the New York/New Jersey Port Authority Bus Terminal and PATH train stations), as well as international airports in Detroit, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh and Toronto.

Prior to Concourse, Jim was Chief Development Officer of American Tower Corporation, the largest owner and operator of wireless and broadcast towers in North America. Jim’s primary responsibilities were to seek out and oversee all acquisition and development opportunities for the company. He co-founded American Tower in 1995 and previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Before co-founding American Tower, Eisenstein was Chief Operating Officer of Amaturo Group, Ltd. from 1990 to 1995. Amaturo Group owned and operated 11 radio stations in West Palm Beach, San Bernardino, Austin and Nashville, which were sold to American Radio Systems (the predecessor company to American Tower). From 1988 to 1990, Eisenstein was Deputy General Counsel of Home Shopping Network. In this role, he was responsible for all transactional work of the company.

Mr. Eisenstein is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.



Ted Mocarski - Managing Director, Key Venture Partners

Ted brings 17 years of investment and legal experience to Key Venture Partners with a focus on communications, data services and information technology businesses. In addition to Optasite, Ted currently serves as a board member of airBand, airwide solutions, Impress Software, Kasenna, OpSource, and XyEnterprise.

Ted joined Key Venture Partners in 2003. Previously, Ted was a Managing Director at Nautic Partners and Fleet Equity Partners, where he was responsible for leading the funds' investment efforts in the communications and IT industries. Ted was the lead or an early investor in a number of companies, which generated significant returns for its investors, including Exodus Communications, Dobson Communications, FairPoint Communications, and Verio. Prior to this, Ted was an attorney with Edwards & Angell, where he represented several venture capital and private equity firms.

Ted holds a B.A . from Colby College and a J.D. from American University.



Sean Dalton - Managing General Partner, Highland Capital Partners

Sean is a Managing General Partner of Highland Capital Partners investing in communications infrastructure and semiconductors. Sean is a former director of AccessLan Communications (acquired by Advanced Fibre Communications), Altiga Networks (acquired by Cisco), Envoy Networks (acquired by Texas Instruments), Ocular Networks (acquired by Tellabs), Telcobuy.com (merged with World Wide Technology) and Telica (acquired by Lucent). He currently represents Highland on the boards of Casero, CHiL Semiconductor, Covergence, Innovative Silicon, moka5, Optasite, P.A. Semi, picoChip, QD Vision, Radiospire Networks, Starent Networks (Nasdaq: STAR), Tatara Systems and Virtual Iron Software and also actively works with ANDA Networks, Simpler Networks and TriStar. Sean has been recognized by the prestigious Forbes Midas List as one of the top venture capitalists in the industry.

Prior to joining Highland, Sean was a Venture Associate at Fidelity Capital focusing on investments in communications and electronic commerce. Before Fidelity, Sean worked as a Product Manager - Internet Services for GTE where he developed remote access and other network services for ISPs and large business customers. While at GTE, Sean led the nation's first ADSL trial for Internet access.

Sean holds multiple degrees including: B.S., Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware: an M.S., Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania; and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
