JOB SUMMARY

This position will primarily be responsible for supporting the real estate and transactional needs of the Company’s acquisition and development efforts. This person will be fully integrated into the Company’s due diligence protocol and will have strong interfaces with Optasite’s financial, operations and property management departments. The attorney in this position will work closely with Sellers and their counsel and will also manage the work of outside legal, title, environmental and regulatory vendors. This position requires a strong real estate and contract focus in a busy, transaction oriented environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the CDO in the development and negotiation of tower acquisitions
  • Work with seller’s counsel in the negotiation of transaction documents
  • Manage the efficient use of outside counsel
  • Manage the efficient ordering of title examinations and the ensuing process
  • Review draft title policies and surveys, negotiate exceptions with title counsel, manage issuance of owner’s and lender’s policies
  • Review and advise on the results of regulatory and environmental due diligence
  • Manage closing process, closing documentation, settlement statement preparation
  • Ensure Company’s compliance with transaction related bank covenants
  • Manage the recordation of applicable real estate documentation
  • Liaison with lender’s counsel with respect to mortgage and other requirements under the Company’s credit facilities
  • Assist in the development of transaction related memoranda for internal and external distribution
  • General corporate duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive real estate acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal  communications skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Self-Motivated
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Juris Doctor, plus Massachusetts Bar membership
  • Minimum 4 years experience in private or equivalent corporate practice with a strong focus on transactional real estate
  • Wireless or Telecommunications experience preferred
